Everything you should know about our Student Spotlight, Avery!

Here at USF students go above and beyond in academics, community service and student involvement. This week we want to highlight the hard work and dedication that Avery Horvath has demonstrated with the help of USF services.

Avery has chosen to life a happy and healthy lifestyle. We caught up with Avery to talk about her goals and how she lives happy and well here at the University of South Florida.
When Avery isn’t studying and participating in her sororities functions she spends time at the USF Campus Recreation Gym.
Who says girls can’t lift? Avery has a passion for lifting and it is one of her favorite ways to stay fit and active.

Q: Why do you stay active?

A: “I stay active to feel and look healthy. Committing to a healthy lifestyle is extremely rewarding and it makes me a more confident and happier person.”

Q: What are the benefits?

A: “I have a lot more energy, I feel and look better, and I am the strongest I have ever been. Exercising is a great stress reliever and confidence builder for me as well.”

Avery loves a challenge! Pull-ups are one of her favorite exercises, as well as push-ups, squats, lunges and bicep curls. This girl is a gym fanatic! The USF gym has given her plenty of resources so she can reach her fitness goals.

Q:What advice would you give to USF students about living healthy lifestyles?

A: “First, decide what your goals are, then make a plan to achieve them. If you want to lose weight or build muscle, then research, ask people who have experience, and start from there. Consistency is also key. You’re not always going to be motivated, but staying on track is super Important.”

Q: What healthy foods do you enjoy eating?

A: ”My favorite healthy foods are Greek yogurt with berries, grilled chicken, sweet potatoes with cinnamon, and rice cakes with peanut butter.”
